Gray May! May is brain tumor awareness month! Gray May for the gray matter. This is my beautiful aunt Vicki. She was an amazing dynamic woman. In August of 2018, she was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is 18 months. Even after her diagnosis she was full speed ahead with her projects, learning new skills and industries. We had a little over 2 years together after her diagnosis and in October of 2020 we were told they had exhausted all of her treatment options. She passed away on November 5th.
“Today, an estimated 700,000 people in the United States are living with a primary brain tumor, and approximately 85,000 more will be diagnosed in 2021. Brain tumors can be deadly, significantly impact quality of life, and change everything for a patient and their loved ones. They do not discriminate, inflicting men, women, and children of all races and ethnicities.” Follow National Brain Tumor Society for more facts and ways you can bring awareness!!
